Silly prices but based on those 12m is fair enough... I can't see us paying 12m so I reckon the only way we will get him is a swap plus cash for Reid in this window.... which I think / hope will happen.

Market value of 4.5m. You have to pay a fair bit more than that to buy him but 12m is a joke. Around 7m is more realistic but to be honest there are other right backs out there who would cost less and free up funds for elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong, I like Jenks and am pleased to have young English players in the side getting a chance to shine at the top level but 12m isn't value for a right back and that's without the wages he'd probably want.

Great fullback and I'd love to see him here, but there are a couple of drawbacks. 1. He is a massive Arsenal fan and a genuine Gooner, all his life. 2. Is he surplus to Wenger's requirements? I'm not sure that he is and I have my doubts that they want to sell. Have they really given us a price of 12 mill, or is this 'back page bollocks?'

The deal will be done won't it? Some kind if swap at the very end of the window.
Personally I'd pay £12m for Jenkinson - decent full backs are ten a penny but quality youngsters are rare and make a huge difference to the team. Roeder/Sit Trev almost kept us up on the back if getting brevett and Johnson in the first team with a ridiculous turn around in the second half of the season.
He could be quite some player, and I'd hate to see him go elsewhere now

Locking in jenko and making him permanent would be huge...
If we could get him for 1/2 million and Reid swap now I would bite their hand off...
Buy a new cb now, which needs to happen in the summer anyway and ease him into the squad.
Jenko and Cresswell would be the envy of every club minus 1/2 of the top 4 imho

Deary me Tex, I'd stop digging if I were you, much as it's something you're reputed to enjoy doing.
Reid will be a free agent, and we can't guarantee him going anywhere. The reason he is holding out is for a multi million signing on fee going to him, as opposed to a transfer fee going to the club. If we were to pay him a similar multi million pound bonus to go to Arsenal wouldn't it be simpler to just pay more for Jenkinson?

OMG Texas.... Reid can go for nothing in June!
If it wasn't for Jenkinson I think we would keep Reid until the end of the season but as there is a deal to be done I reckon it will be done on deadline day, after the Liverpool match.

If Arsenal are really asking for that much they are taking the piss. At the end of the season, either they will want to keep him or sell him. If they decide to sell, we will be in the driving seat as Jenks will want to come to us. If they want to keep him, there's nothing we can do.
Probably unlikely, but I wouldn't mind de Vrij from Ajax.
